Quick Setup Camera tethering Eye-Fi X2 Pro to Ipad Instant Wireless Transfer for my Canon 5D Mark ii

This Quick Tutorial is for someone who want transfer their images from camera to ipad / ipad 2 / iphone.

My reason for doing this is for my customer to preview my pictures instantly. Instead of looking it up from my tiny screen on my camera, now they can take advantage of the big Apple iPad / iPad 2 screen.

First, assume you have a camera and a jailbroken ipad/iphone, you still need the following:

  • Eye-Fi SD Card (both non X2 and X2 works) Pro version is perfer allow to work without Wi-fi situation.
  • SDHC support CF card adaptor if your camera take CF card instead of SD
  • jailbroken ipad/iphone with “MyWi 4.0″ apps from Cydia and “shuttersnitch” from Apple apps store

So Here you go: (need a wireless connection area with a computer to setup at the very first time)
1. unwrap your Eye-fi X2 SD card, insert it to the USB adaptor that come with it and plug it to your computer.
Then install their software, software can be found inside the Eye-fi card.
Then Eye-fi will ask you to create an account, yes you need to register ! (Check your email to comfirm the registion before you move on)!!!!IMG_0796
2. Install MyWi 4.0 from an jailbreak ipad/iphone, under Cydia you need to purchase it.

3. Then turn on the Wi-fi hotsport at MyWi 4.0 (I didn’t try 3.0 or 2.0 but i think it may work as well)

4. Go back to your computer with the Eye-fi software and select the ipad/iphone wireless device that you just create using MyWi.
Go and add the ipad/iphone to the profile.

5. Back to your ipad/iphone and install shuttersnitch from apps store (yes you need to buy it or maybe try installous?)
Now, turn off your MyWi wi-fi hotspot and turn on your wi-fi network to access the internet) on your iphone/ipad!
Open the shuttersnitch and go to options –> Set up Eye-Fi access (type the account you have created on your computer).

6. Then you should be able to get to the following screen, yes your card is found and turn it on!

Then you are almost done!
–> Turn on MyWi 4.0 wi-fi hotsport on you iphone/ipad you don’t need the regular wi-fi signal from this point, yes take it out on the street now…
–> Put the Eye-Fi SD card (with adaptor if you use CF) to your camera
–> Turn on shuttersnatch apps while leave the MyWi hotspot on
–> Take a picture and wait for 3-5 sec, wala.. your picture show in ipad/iphone, work for a great distance too.. as long as the wi-fi signal is acceptable…

Fixed Windows 7 Windows Mail is gone, how to get it back Vista Windows Mail back on Windows seven

{Story} Windows seven no longer offer free POP3 and SMTP email program, so Outlook Express or Window Mail (Vista) is now history. However, Windows 7 actually still offering Window Mail for those who are upgrading from Windows Vista, below is how to turn the function on. But ofcourse you have an option using their Live Mail or other free email software like Thunderbird. {/story}

I have both Windows 7 professional 32-bit at work and Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit installed at home.

Here is how you get the Window Mail back on Windows 7:

1. Make a copy from your MS Vista Windows Mail folder.
(To find out where it is, open your Windows Mail then go to toos–>options–>Advanced–>Maintenance–> Store Folder)
*P.S. If you don’t have Window Mail from Vista before.. too bad, but not exactly..
I found out you can use somebody Windows Vista Mail 32-bit or 64-bit files on your Windows 7.. how to get it? I suggest you can do a google search to see if someone brave enough to post it or go search if there is still people still using Vista and copy from them.

2. Then, go to Control Panel and Folder Options –> Check on Show Hidden files, folders and drives. (Since Windows 7 hide the WinMail.exe file)
Windows 7 Mail

2. Go to C:\Program Files\Windows Mail\en-US and right click on folder properties–>Security–>Advance then do the following to change the folder owner to Administrators, ofcourse you have to be administrator as well.

3. Then go back to the same folder and chose Administrators and allow “Full control”
(This will allow you to have permission to make change on the WinMail folder)

4. repleat steps 3&4 to grant permission inside Windows Mail folder “en-US”

5. copy and past and overwite the Windows Vista Window Mail file to Windows 7 Windows Mail folder.

6. done!

If you are using 64-bit windows, make sure you chose the Winodws Mail folder under the Programe Files, not the (x86), otherwise you will get a msoe.dll error.

My IE 7 flash player just stopped to run one day and I got this message of tn_19166 error.

Try many many different ways but never have my problem fixed, but one day.. wallah.. and problem solved.

The problem:
adobe tn_19166 install error

To fix it, try following my step and good luck!

What are you going to do is to reset your registry permissions on Windows (Vista) in my case, this is my  registry screw up and prevent the flash from installing.

1. Uninstall Flash player from control panel.
2. Make a backup of your registry (is up to you, i didn’t do that)
3. Download and install subinacl.exe
4. Download reset.cmd (run it and it may take a long time) * you need to have administrative rights on your computer (accounts) in order to do it.
5. restart your computer and reinstall the flash player again and you should be happy now.

Microsoft Vista Slow Delete Rename Copy Problem Fixed

Been using my Microsoft Vista (Home Premium) for more then a year, yeah.. the OS is sucks.
Recently, I have experienced slow action when I (Delete my files, rename my file and copy items).
How Slow? It took me 10 seconds to create a new file, while the XP system can be done in a blink of my eyes.

What cause it? Slowness can be attributed to a feature in Vista ” Remote Differential Compression” which measures the changes in files over a network to transfer them with minimal bandwidth rather than transferring an entire file that has previously been moved. This constant checking for file changes drastically reduce the transfer speeds.

How do I fix it?

1. Open Control Panel from Microsoft Vista

2. Then Chose “Services” from Control Panel

3.Go and look for “Windows Search” Service

4. On the General Tag –> Startup Type: Chose “Disabled”

After you stop the Windows search service you should now back to normal.

Just received my copy of Planet Earth HD-DVD from Discovery.

Problem appeard when it start played, my xbox 360 system freezed.

I put my King Kong HD-DVD and make sure the problem come from the HD-DVD media source, however King Kong HD-DVD played just fine.

After Google around a bit, and find out the problem maybe the firmware issues of my Xbox external HD-DVD drive.

Try below link for firmware update: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360hddvdplayer/download.htm#liveupdate Make sure either one of your Planet Earth HD-DVD disc is on the drive then go to Xbox live and chose play HD-DVD and it will automatically start the firmware update.
